Bird Wood Slice Ornament

Do you have a bird or nature lover on your Christmas shopping list? If so, this is the perfect gift.

This stunning ornament is made from a real wood slice with live bark still attached on the edge. It measures between 3.5" and 4" in diameter and is approximately 3/8" thick.

I have stamped the wood slice with permanent black ink and have hand-coloured the design with alcohol ink markers. I spattered the surface with white acrylic paint to mimic lightly falling snow. I have also applied a clear dimensional finish to the berries and beak.

The back of the wood slice is also finished with a holiday greeting and a trio of berries and holly leaves. Not only will this look beautiful on your Christmas tree, but it can also be used as a unique gift tag so I have left space under the greeting for you to write a little message or sign your name and date the ornament.

The wood slice has been sprayed on both sides with a clear sealer to ensure the design will not fade with time.

The finishing touch is a bow made of white ribbon and a little bit of gold glittered tulle as well as two gold-tone jingle bells. The final touch is a natural twine string for hanging.
